The announcement was made during a launch event for the OPPO Find X8 series in Chengdu, where Riot also revealed the extension of its partnership with OPPO.

The smartphone brand will continue as the global presenting partner for League of Legends esports, including Worlds and the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) MVP awards.
China has been an integral part of the tournament’s history, with previous editions in 2017 and 2020.
The 2017 event took place across Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing, with the grand final held at the iconic Bird’s Nest stadium.
Despite the pandemic’s challenges, the 2020 edition in Shanghai still captivated millions of viewers worldwide.
The decision to return to China in 2025 comes on the heels of the successful 2024 MSI in Chengdu, which showcased thrilling matches and a vibrant atmosphere, even though Chinese team Bilibili Gaming (BLG) fell to South Korea’s Gen.G in the final.
As Worlds 2024 unfolds in Europe with the semi-finals in Paris and the grand final at the O2 Arena in London, BLG has another shot at redemption.
While Riot has not yet disclosed the specific host cities for Worlds 2025, the company aims to deliver an unforgettable experience, highlighting China’s world-class venues, passionate fans, and strong esports culture.
With hopes to secure the Summoner’s Cup on home soil for the first time, the LoL Pro League (LPL) top teams will look to rise to the occasion.
