?Movistar Riders and Virtus.pro will cross paths on Thursday, October 14, in the opening round of BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2021. These two rosters last met way back in October 2019 (while VP were still AVANGAR) when Dzhami “Jame” Ali and his crew won with 16-7 on Nuke.
While Virtus.pro are much stronger on paper, the Russians haven’t impressed anyone with their performances online. They’re 2-4 across their last six outings and have won only against forZe (16-5) and INDAE IRAE (4-2).
Movistar Riders have been far more effective of late and enter this match with a 8-1 record. Their only loss over that run came against current third-best team in the world, Ninjas in Pyjamas (1-2); however, Movistar also won against Complexity (no.21), Heroic (no.7), and G2 Esports (no.5).
This is a match Movistar Riders can easily win. They might lack star names, but they’re in exceptional form and Virtus.pro are not.
Movistar Riders to win

?The CS:GO betting odds on this match make it very hard to pick a side. Team Liquid are undeniably much stronger than 9z, but they also seemed very fragile online, so it’s fair to doubt them.
Team Liquid are 6-1 across their last seven outings; however, all those wins came against weak teams during Intel Extreme Masters XVI Fall North America. A better indication of their online form is their 4-2 run through ESL Pro League Season 14, where Liquid lost to Heroic (1-2) and Team Vitality (1-2).
Even though it’s hard to be overly impressed with Liquid, there are even fewer reasons to believe in 9z, who might be 10-2 but are still a tier-two team. This game is Liquid’s to lose, and unless something goes terribly wrong for them, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and co. should close out both maps with at least six rounds to spare.
