As the latest Overwatch League betting odds show, San Fransisco Shock are a significantly better team than Washington Justice. And if the teams’ performances in the qualifiers are any indication, the offered betting odds make perfect sense.
However, even though the Shock looked far better in their recent outings, Washington Justice are not necessarily as bad as the odds suggest. They are not one of the top teams in the West, but this team has a very high ceiling.
They completely stomped some lesser teams in Toronto Defiant (3-1), Paris Legion (3-1), and Atlanta Reign (3-0) and have shown a solid fight against stronger opponents. The Justice still have a lot to work on, but this will be a scary team once the roster clicks.
For Washington Justice to stand a chance against the Shock, they will need to see a bit more from Gui-un “Decay” Jang; however, we don’t know whether we will see that version of Justice this tournament. Still, the Justice to win a single map against San Fransisco Shock at +150 is a no-brainer.

There is not much parity in the Overwatch League West division – in contrast to the East – and barring any shock results, the race for the OWL Kickoff Clash title will be a three-horse race between the Dallas Fuel, Los Angeles Gladiators, and San Francisco Shock. Maybe the Florida Mayhem are a dark horse, but we don’t expect to see any other team making it very far.
That, unfortunately, includes Houston Outlaws, who have not looked that good this season. They were 4-2 in the qualifiers, and they even defeated Dallas Fuel (3-0) at the start of May, but that victory was a fluke.
This season, the Outlaws have yet to meet with Los Angeles Gladiators, but we don’t need any past head-to-head results to know how this match will go. The Outlaws are good enough to defeat some lesser teams, but they’re not at the required level to compete with the OWL’s top dogs just yet.
