The post Apex Legends passes 400k concurrent users on Steam appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>The new set record was reached after the season launched with the latest new character included in the game – ‘Newcastle’ – and changes to the players ranked mode and the map Storm Point. This is coming three years after launch and a year after its release on Steam, as it continues to surpass its own record.
??In the previous seasons, players faced issues that hampered their playing experience. An example of these issues faced was server instability. As a result of these several technical issues, dips were caused in FPS, and thereby fear of repetition left room for doubt concerning the recent 13th season. ??However, due to the new milestone achieved, it seems the players arent expressing technical difficulties in the game.
During Season 12 of the game, which launched on February 19, it managed to set a record of 393,000 concurrent players on Steam, which was much higher than the Season 9 record of 330,879 concurrent players during its launch in May 2021.??
According to Alpha Intel, the game reached an all-time high of 412,556 players on Steam, and this doesnt include the player base on platforms other than PC, except EAs PC platform and all consoles where Apex is available. Its quite possible that if all of the platforms were accounted for, the concurrent players might have surpassed 1 million.??
Apex Legends hit a new all-time peak player count on Steam for the Season 13 launch. Over 400,000 concurrent players on Steam for the first time ever,?? Alpha Intel reported via Twitter.
Electronic Arts revealed on May 10 that Apex Legends had generated over $2 billion in earnings since its launch in 2019. A mobile version of the game – Apex Legends Mobile – is scheduled to be released later in May 2022 and is said to support cross-platform play.

]]>??Chris Suh, the CFO of Electronic Arts, revealed to stakeholders on the fourth-quarter results call that Apex continues to provide overwhelming gains for the organization. Suh went further to verify that the game’s overall earnings had now surpassed $2 billion.
For a game that was released three years ago, the game gets bigger and increases in value at an incredible rate. Suh stated that Apex’s income climbed by 40% year over year, adding that Season 12 marked the game’s most profitable season ever. The company is expected to produce a billion dollars every year in the future, as experts have speculated.??
Shareholders had to make do with a more nebulous metric of success for the game’s latest season, despite CEO of Electronic Art, Andrew Wilson reporting that Season 9 and Season 10 had both set a record for the most active players in the game.
??Still, EA executives remain optimistic about the game’s future, expecting the launch of Apex Legends on mobile later this month to boost revenue for the company and the franchise in the coming fiscal year.
??EAs Service Categories and Net worth ?Electronic Arts as a company specializes in providing digital interactive entertainment. It develops and publishes gaming titles for a variety of platforms, including mobile devices, internet-connected consoles, PCs, and tablets.?? The company’s services are used by over 300 million individuals around the world.
Electronic Arts has three core divisions: EA Mobile, EA Studios, and Maxis. ??Its first division is tasked with the designing and development of games with an improved user experience built specifically for mobile platforms. The second division assists in the development and launch of interactive games for mobile devices and tablets, with over 20 studios and 6,000 creators. The third, Maxis, is well known for its simulation games, including The Sims, Spore and SimCity. ??
The companys net worth has risen since the previous year, indicating that it will continue to perform very well. The games being services that are mostly consumed indoors thrived as a result of COVID and global lockdowns. It was one of the few game franchises that did exceptionally well in 2020. ??
EA’s net worth is said to be $34.71 billion (as at April 29, 2022), and one might be curious to wonder how it earns its profits. Because the corporation is predominantly digital, many of its operations revolve around the delivery of digital material. ??The issue with digital products is that they are usually far less expensive to develop than physical items because they do not require the high cost of production. Furthermore, because the corporation has extensive digital distribution capabilities, it can sell its material much more easily.??
EA generates revenues from online sales each year. Consoles are the company’s biggest source of income, and that has been the company’s primary focus since its inception all those years ago. ??Live services, game downloads, and mobile are the three sectors that make up its annual revenue. EA has also managed the field smartly, resulting in a partnership with Disney in which EA will begin distributing all Star Wars games.??
The game publisher had earlier announced it will discontinue the creation of FIFA-branded football games from 2023, ending its partnership with the football governing body. It has, however, stated that it will continue to develop and publish football video games under a new name: EA Sports FC.

]]>While Apex Legends became an instant hit after its launch in February 2019, the game has not seen much action in the esports scene besides Twitch Rivals, X-Games and most recently the Apex Legends Preseason Invitational. However, things took a big leap forward with Tuesday’s announcement.
The Apex Legends Global Series is set to begin on January 25, 2020. It will be comprised of 12 global live events, held by either EA/Respawn, PGL, or Global Loot League, in addition to online competitions which will take place throughout the season.

The first event in the Apex Legends Global Series will be an online tournament where players will compete to earn qualifying points and an invitation to the first offline Major, set to take place in March 2020.
Following the first online tournament, two more will take place on February 29 and March 2. The premier event is set to take place less than two weeks later at Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The first Major of the series, as well as the next two, will feature 100 three-player squads, with the fourth and finals Major of the season – the Apex Legends Global Series Championship – set to feature only the top 60 teams.
The competition will be available to PC players from over 60 countries. Anyone wishing to participate in the series will have to fill out a registration form which will become available in early January, two weeks prior to the first online tournament.
Players who want to compete in Apex Legends Global Series will first and foremost have to be of legal age, meaning over 16 years in Japan and over 18 in Russia or South Korea. Other rules and restrictions can be found on the Apex Legends website.
“Apex Legends is one of the most impactful launches in videogame history and it possesses immense esports potential,” said John Nelson, Senior Director and Commissioner of Apex Legends Competitive Gaming at EA.
“Through close communication with our community, weve built an accessible Apex Legends ecosystem where any player can become a potential star while the world watches our unique, entertaining take on Battle Royale esports.
CEO of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella added that “competition is at the heart of Apex Legends” and that he believes the Global Series will play a pivotal role in the future of Apex Legends esports.
While the launch of the Apex Legends Global Series is a huge step forward, the announcement left PlayStation 4 and Xbox One fans in the lurch. There are no announcements yet as to whether or not controllers will be permitted in the Global Series.

]]>Released on February 4, 2019, the became an instant hit as one of the first to combine the battle royale and class-based FPS elements.
In its launch week, Apex Legends made waves on the popular streaming platform, Twitch, where it racked up 8.4 million hours viewed, which is to date the streaming platform’s fourth-highest single-day views number in the last five years.
While Apex Legends failed to sustain its viewer numbers, it remains one of the most viewed game titles on the streaming platform to date.
The game has since introduced three new legends named Crypto, Octane and Watson, on top of releasing a new map and limited-time events, such as duo mode, to keep the game fresh and engaging.
Following the reveal of the new player base milestone, EA Games announced they had made Apex Legends their core franchise and thus expanded their development team.
With added developers, Apex Legends is expected to further expand with new features, heroes, maps and possibly even new permanent game modes.
To increase the accessibility of their game titles, Electronic Arts revealed they will bring more of their multiplayer games to back to Steam sometime in 2020, which includes FIFA 20, Battlefield V, and the upcoming release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Apex Legends is also coming to mobile and next-gen consoles, following the footsteps of Riot Games, who revealed earlier this month League of Legends is going cross-platform.
In an official statement, the company’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, confirmed the ever-growing team behind the battle royale game title is determined to bring Apex Legends to mobile, new platforms and new geographies, to which he added Apex Legends is launching a new competitive gaming program, the details of which will be revealed soon.
EAs CFO and COO, Blake Jorgensen, gave the fans a rough release date for the mobile version, which by his words should happen in the 2021 fiscal year, which begins on October 1, 2020.
With that, Apex Legends follows in the footsteps of PUBG and Call of Duty, which both saw immense success with their mobile versions, the latter of which just recently surpassed PUBG as the most popular mobile game in the world.

]]>The world’s leading Apex Legends esports talent will head to Krakow in mid-September to compete in one of the biggest events in esports history and the first major offline esports event held by Respawn following their success with Twitch Rivals events.
The Apex Legends Preseason Invitational will run from September 13-15 in a double-elimination format. The 80 teams, each consisting of three players, will be grouped together using a snake draft where the order is reversed after each round of selections.
Once the draft is completed, the long-awaited journey for 240 glory-hungry legends will begin by dropping them into the winners’ bracket, from where only their performances will dictate which way the road will take them.
After each round of play, the teams will either continue into the next stage of the same bracket or suffer relegation into the losers’ bracket and ultimately be eliminated from the tournament entirely.
The same format will continue into the next couple of days until the tournament winnows down to only the best 20 teams on September 15, which will mark the day of one last large-scale brawl.
Put head-to-head against 19 other teams, each team will enter the arena in hopes they can outperform their competition one last time in order to earn the title and the largest slice of $500,000 prize pool.
Promising to provide an exciting large-scale battle between some of the top Apex Legends talents in the world, a lot of expectations have been put on the event as well as a lot of desire to compete in it.
Sadly, the only way to get a chance to compete in The Apex Legends Preseason Invitational is by receiving an invite, as there are no qualifiers to decide which teams are worthy of competing for the title.
As announced by the organizers, all players which wish to compete will need to apply at [email protected] by adding their Origin ID as well as documents proving they are of a minimum age to, which differs from country to country.
Potential competitors from Germany, the Russian Federation, and South Korea will have to be at least 18 years of age. Competitors from Japan 17, and a minimum age of 16 for residents of all other countries.
Each team must also pay a $150 registration fee, all before 11:59:59 PM PT on September second, 2019 to be eligible for an invitation to the biggest Apex Legends event in history.
