?Complexity Gaming are officially out of the running for the 2022 IEM Rio Major after losing to Imperial in the sixth-place decider match on Sunday. Both teams faced off in the last Counter-Strike: Global Offensive game of the Americas RMR, and Imperial emerged the winner and earned the last spot in the IEM Rio Major.?

?Going into the game, the top esports betting sites could hardly split the pair, with some bookies giving Complexity slight favoritism at -116.28.? ?

Imperial dealt the first blow, winning a close game on Inferno (16-13). However, the Brazilians lost on Nuke (11-16), but solidified their win on Overpass (22-20) in extra time. Due to the win, Imperial will move on to the Challengers Stage of the Major, which starts in the teams home country on October 30.?

?Inferno saw Imperial take the lead at the start of the map after securing the pistol round on the offense and reaching 5-1. Complexity then came alive and won two rounds, but the South American side did not give them any room for more wins. In the last round of the first half of the map, Fernando “?fer?” Alvarenga and Vinicius “?VINI?” Figueiredo were able to convert a 2v5 situation and end the half at 11-4.? ?

The sides were switched in the second half of the map, and Complexity won six consecutive rounds and almost passed Imperial in the lead. The Brazilians adapted to their opponents’ playstyle, however, and the two teams started trading rounds. ?Imperial were finally able to win 16-12 on the map after their in-game leader, Gabriel “?FalleN?” Toledo, won several rounds while making use of the Big Green.

The squads moved on to Nuke, Complexitys map pick.? ?Nuke started with Complexity on the Terrorist side and a speedy climb to a 3-0 lead. As a result of the close nature of the rounds, Imperial were able to use one round win to break the NA teams economy. They continued in the lead throughout the first half and had the upper hand in the economy.?

?The second half of Nuke started with both teams trading rounds until they tied at 11-11. Complexity won five consecutive rounds on the back of Ricky “?floppy?” Kemery, who executed an impressive 1vs3 clutch and ended the map with a 16-11 score.

Tied at 1-1, the match extended to a third and final map on Overpass.? It was a full-out brawl between the two teams and lasted an astonishing 42 rounds before finally coming to an end with Imperials 22-20 win.?

?Imperials rifler, Marcelo “?chelo?” Cespedes, started Overpass with an amazing 15 kills in the first seven rounds. His team moved up 5-1 and remained in the lead for the entire half of the map due to the efforts of FalleN and chelo. The players converted a 2v4 situation, which helped solidify Imperials position and ended Overpass first half with a three-round lead.?

?Complexity started the second half with a pistol-round win and converted it to a lead. Imperial were able to earn a win of their own after FalleN secured an ace on the A site.? ?The franchises engaged in a lengthy back and forth which saw Complexitys Justin “?FaNg?” Coakley win two clutches. FalleN and chelo were also keeping their team in line on the CT side.?

?The final map featured several impressive performances from the two CS:GO teams. Chelo earned the highest rating with a 1.26 score as well as a 79-62 K/D. FalleN was not far ahead, attaining a 1.23 rating and a 71-52 K/D.?

?Imperials FaNg was also incredible on the map and performed several round-winning clutches. He finished the match with a 1.08 rating and a 70-68 K/D.? ?

Imperial finished the IEM Road to Rio Americas RMR Swiss round with a 3-2 record after beating TeamOne, Nouns, and Isurus. They then won consecutive best-of-three series against paiN Gaming and Complexity to clinch the final spot in the IEM Rio Major 2022 field.

ESB returns with free Counter-Strike: Global Offensive betting predictions for three Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022 Americas RMR on Wednesday, October 5. Here are our picks for Imperial vs Isurus, MiBR vs O PLANO, and Nouns vs Evil Geniuses, with top betting odds courtesy of BetOnline.

?Imperial kick off their IEM Rio Major RMR campaign on Wednesday, when they’ll meet with regional rival Isurus for the first time since March. Imperial won both games against Isurus then, and according to the latest CS:GO betting odds, they shouldn’t struggle to make it three in a row.

That’s not necessarily because Imperial are very strong, but rather because Isurus are one of the weakest teams in the field. They won Supercopa de America 2022 at the end of September and are 6-1 across their last seven outings, but over those seven games, Isurus have not faced a single solid team.

Imperial hold a slightly worse 4-3 record over the same stretch with defeats against 00 Nation (0-2) and paiN Gaming (5-16, 1-2), but those games happened a month ago, during ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022. Imperial have not played a single official match since.

Imperial field better players and are bound to come out of this contest on top, but at 5.5-round line, we have to side with Isurus. They’re weaker, but Imperial are rusty and can easily drop at least 11 rounds.

NOUNS vs EVIL GENIUSES CS:GO BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: nouns +200 at BetOnline | EG -277.78 at BetOnline
When: October 5, 2022 | 13:15 CEST
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/esl_csgo)

Nouns (former Gaimin Gladiators) gained a spot in the Americas RMR via the first open qualifier in August, when they placed second behind Complexity. Shortly after, the squad parted ways with the Gladiators organisation but kept playing together, achieving reasonable success.

Notably, nouns placed second at Ace North American Masters Fall 2022, coming just a few rounds short of qualifying for BLAST Premier Fall Showdown NA and the Flow FiReLEAGUE 2022 Global Finals. But while those might look like promising results on paper, that doesn’t take away from the fact that nouns are expected to end the American RMR inside the bottom eight.

Yet, even though we don’t see how nouns can qualify for the Major, there’s a chance they cause an upset on Wednesday. Evil Geniuses are individually better and a more established team, but looking at their past results, this is not a squad you feel comfortable betting on.

Outside of occasional flashes of greatness, Evil Geniuses have been largely underwhelming in 2022 and don’t deserve to be priced as -277.78 favourites with esports betting sites. Nouns to win at the outsider odds is the right play.

MIBR vs O PLANO CS:GO BETTING & MATCH DETAILS

Best Odds: MiBR -454.55 at BetOnline | O PLANO +300 at BetOnline
When: October 5, 2022 | 15:45 CEST
Watch Live: Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/esl_csgo)

An all-Brazilian spectacle between O PLANO and MiBR promises an exciting but fairly one-sided affair. According to the latest CS:GO betting odds, MiBR have about an 82% chance of winning this bout, which might sound fair, but we feel like it’s a bit exaggerated.

Even though MiBR are in excellent form, boasting an eight-game winning streak, we wouldn’t sleep on O PLANO – for two main reasons. First, the two rosters know each other extremely well, and this is a best-of-one game.

Like with any clash between two teams from the same nation, we should take their past results and perceived strength with a grain of salt since these derbies are often competitive affairs. But even if we don’t follow this narrative, we haven’t seen enough from MiBR to say that they deserve to be priced at just -454.55.

If MiBR end up winning, it will be because of Henrique “HEN1” Teles, who has been playing extremely well of late. But as long as O PLANO find a way to stop the 27-year-old, they should be able to eke out a win at big odds.

The Ex-Gaimin Gladiators head coach, Kory “SEMPHIS” Friesen, is in the process of setting up a crowdfund so his team can attend a bootcamp in Germany. The former Cloud9 CS:GO gamer made the announcement a month before the IEM Rio Major Regional Major Ranking (RMR) Americas tournament.?

?Taking place in Stockholm, Sweden, the Americas RMR will start on October 4 and end on October 9. Ex-Gaimin Gladiators snagged one of the 16 slots due to their performance in the North American Open Qualifiers.? ?

SEMPHIS revealed on Twitter that the team needed the support of fans in order to attend the bootcamp. ?

?”Ex-Gaimin Gladiators need your support, as we’ve lost our org and have yet to find a replacement our plans of boot camping in Germany before the RMR are becoming grim,” SEMPHIS said.?

“?We know time’s are tough, any donation helps! Even if you can’t we still love you.”? ?

The coach promised gifts to fans who donated to their cause. According to the post, the intention of the bootcamp was not to do “anything fancy” like staying in a hotel. Instead, the group would split themselves up and place three in a room to ensure the activity was carried out “as cheaply as possible”.?

?If the team end up going to Germany, they will be expected to spend five days in the country. This would help the players properly adjust to the time zone in the European region and carry out mock battles against more experienced teams. Ex-Gaimin Gladiators would also be able to know more about European meta, all in time for the upcoming Americas RMR.?

?The link to the teams GoFundMe page revealed that, at the moment, around CAD $840 had been raised for the cause. The stated amount required for the European trip is $10,000, and $300 was the highest donation on the site. The sizable donation was made by Soham “valens” Chowdhury, the director of athletics at Evil Geniuses – winners of the ELEAGUE Boston Major.?

?Besides outrightly depositing money in the teams GoFundMe account, other personalities in the esports community revealed how they intended to help with the situation. Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, the in-game leader of Imperial Esports, commented on SEMPHIS posts offering his services.

?According to ‘The Godfather’ of the Brazilian esports scene, he would make sure to stream this week and obtain any resources that he thought would be useful to them. The three-time consecutive Major winner previously faced a similar situation in 2014 during his time in KaBuM.TD when he asked his fans for help.?

?The Americas RMR will see 16 CS:GO squads from the region play off for one of the six spots available at the IEM Rio Major in November.
