]]>To that effect, they announced the launch of their new exclusive full-service content studio. EG’s Vice President of Operations John Jung will handle the running of the studio. The VP has some experience in that regard, having spent two years at Banner Studios before joining EG.
The organization already has a program for content creators, Creator Collective, which houses several content creators. The primary goal is to give its creators the tools needed to create unique and engaging content.
Speaking at the unveiling, Jung shed more light on the plans moving forward.
“Evil Geniuses is taking a different approach with its creator program by actively recruiting individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences that offer unique perspectives and compelling stories to share with the community,” he said.
“With the launch of Evil Geniuses’ new content studio, our creators will now have even more opportunities to share these inspiring stories through access to more resources and tools, including collaborating with our studio creatives and our partners.”
Founded in 1999, Evil Geniuses remains one of the oldest organizations in the esports scene. They have divisions across some of the most popular esports titles, including Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty, Valorant, etc.
The organization has continued to grow, inking deals that will help them become a staple in the global esports industry.
EG has wasted no time in utilizing the new studio, which has already played host to a few content projects. There is a video that features their CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson, as well as an ongoing docuseries focused on the team’s LCS journey.
Four teams are still slugging it out in the League of Legends Championship Series Spring 2022, and Evil Geniuses is one of them. They lost in their semi-finals game 3-2 to Team Liquid, relegating them to the Losers Bracket.
Of the $200,000 prize pool, EG will go home with at least $20,000, with the ultimate prize being $100,000 and a direct ticket to the Mid-Season Invitational 2022.
Across several esports betting sites, Evil Geniuses were favorites to win against FlyQuest in the Losers’ Round 1 and they delivered, giving up only one map in the Best of 5 series.
With that victory, their next challenge will be against Cloud 9. The game is scheduled for April 17, and Evil Geniuses are the underdogs with a win odd of 2.8.
EG has won two of their last five encounters with Cloud9, with their last victory coming in January. However, an upset is definitely on the cards.
If they successfully pull off an upset, they will advance to the Losers’ Finals to play against the loser of the Team Liquid-100 Thieves matchup. It is definitely a tough road ahead for EG as they will always be the underdogs from here on out.

]]>Their attempt to throw their hat back in the ring has gone well so far, as they swept the Golden Guardians last night. Coming into the game, Cloud 9 were -370.37 favorites on BetOnline, and they delivered.
The LCS Spring 2022 commenced on February 5 with the group stage, and teams have since tried to claw their way to the top to be huge beneficiaries from the $200,000 prize pool. Although it is an online event, it is limited to North America, with the Grand Final scheduled for April 24.
Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami was pretty confident after the game and was full of smiles. The Australian commented on the characters he used and how fun it was, especially playing against a team that “sucks”.
“I think playing Viktor feels really nice, playing LeBlanc when the enemy team sucks is pretty nice.”
The mid-laner played a crucial role in C9’s victory and reveled in his performance.
The team have advanced to the next round and would be looking to continue building on their momentum. However, it is worth pointing out that the challenge will only get tougher as they have two more rounds to navigate before qualifying for the Grand Final.
In the Losers’ Round 2, Cloud 9 will play against Evil Geniuses, who claimed a 3-1 victory over FlyQuest on Sunday.
Cloud9 will have an extra day to rest and plan for their clash with EG, and a victory in that best-of-five game will see them qualify for the Losers’ Final.
At that point, they will play against one of Team Liquid and 100 Thieves. Team Liquid are favored to win at -153.85 with esports betting sites, but it is undoubtedly going to be a close contest. If the favorites win, Cloud9 would face a familiar foe, one that bested them in the semi-finals.

?Team Liquid and Dignitas will clash on Saturday in what should be a one-sided affair. Dignitas have had their moments this season and look like a solid mid-table team, but it’s hard to make a solid case for them ahead of this bout.
Team Liquid’s only slip-up of the season happened at the start of the month when they lost to the reigning LCS champions 100 Thieves. However, they’ve since won five straight games, including against Evil Geniuses on Sunday.
It’s worth noting that Liquid might be without support Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in for this match, but even with that handicap, it’s doubtful that we’ll see an upset. Trust Liquid to secure their sixth win of the season, with at least seven kills to spare.

?TSM and CLG are tied for last place with a 1-5 record, but these two teams are not equally strong despite what their stats might suggest. The esports betting sites have priced TSM as the favourites to defeat CLG, which is fair, not necessarily because TSM have looked better in their recent outings, but because they have far more talent on the roster.
Admittedly, TSM are struggling with synergy, but the eye test would confirm that CLG are much worse individually and as a unit. We don’t have high expectations for either team, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them finish the season inside the bottom three. But with players such as Mingyi “Spica” Lu, Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon, and Edward “Tactical” Ra, TSM should not be losing against CLG.

?Dignitas have had an excellent start to the new season with wins against Immortals and TSM and will now seek their third W against the 2022 LCS Lock-In finalists, Evil Geniuses. The outsiders might have a chance; however, we would give Evil Geniuses a slight edge individual talent-wise.
We were impressed with Dingitas’ jungle-support duo, who can create pressure on the map, but the question is whether that will help Dignitas upset Evil Geniuses? It could, if Dignitas look for a more aggressive draft that will give them an early-game tempo and ability to force plays early, but that will be tough to execute.
That is because Evil Geniuses are very good at playing scaling compositions, with Ryze in the mid lane and a late-game ADC champion for Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki, so unless Dignitas find a way to close out the game early, they will suffer. There are ways for Dignitas to win, but Evil Geniuses are just a better team that should come out ahead with at least seven kills to spare.

?We have yet to see Cloud9 play anything outside of enchanter supports, which isn’t a problem and is a solid strategy. Still, Team Liquid can work with that and ban champions that would benefit from the enchanters, such as Aphelios, and draft in a way to restrict Cloud9’s champions pool – which they can do since Liquid have side selection for this match.
Individually, these two teams match up well, and there isn’t much to separate the talent on these rosters. Cloud9 might have a better jungler, but that doesn’t mean much if Liquid can draft properly and utilise Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen as more of a support player.
There are many questions about how this game will play out, and there is no clear favourite. Liquid and Cloud9 are two main favourites to win the league who should produce a closely contested bout, which is why we’re on over 12.5 towers.

?Evil Geniuses enter the opening match of LCS 2022 Spring as -312.5 favourites to defeat TSM, which may sound reasonable considering EG reached the finals of 2022 LCS Lock-In at the end of January. However, while Evil Geniuses are good, the latest LoL betting odds underestimate TSM.
We have very little info to work with since TSM have yet to showcase their full roster, but that doesn’t explain why they’re +220 underdogs. Admittedly, EG are very strong, and one of the dark horse picks to win the LCS, but with the players on TSM, they also have a high ceiling.
If everything comes together for TSM this season – namely, if the new imports gel with the rest of the team quickly – this could be a solid team. We don’t know if that will happen, but at the offered betting odds, TSM are worth a shot with a 7.5-kill advantage

?Continuing the trend of the first match of the LCS 2022 Spring, the LoL betting odds on this bout make no sense. Even though FlyQuest and CLG are two of the league’s weakest teams, CLG is much more exciting as a young roster with unexplored potential.
We already got to see how good CLG can be last month when they finished third in their group and nearly made the semi-finals of LCS Lock-In. FlyQuest perhaps produced better results on paper, but their only wins came against Golden Guardians and the shaky 100 Thieves, and they even lost against TSM’s academy roster.
We don’t expect either team to compete for the title this split, but out of the two, we have more confidence in CLG.

?Counter Logic Gaming are guaranteed to finish outside the top six this split, but they have been playing significantly better of late and might have made it into the postseason had they performed that way from the get-go. In their defence, CLG were dealing with visa issues, so it is not fair to put too much weight on their early-season struggles.
Cloud9 are looking like the strongest LCS team of 2021, so it is not surprising to see them priced so low in the match betting at LoL bookmakers. Even though we can agree C9 are the most likely victors, we cannot quite understand why the kill handicap line is set at 10.5.
On recent form, the -125 on CLG with a +10.5 kill handicap is way too good to pass on. Alternatively, you might want to consider a bet on over 24.5 total kills since C9’s games tend to be very bloody.

?Evil Geniuses enter this match on the heels of back-to-back losses against Dignitas and Immortals, which saw them drop down to fifth place with an 8-7 record. Although they are still a good chance to appear in the LCS Spring playoffs, EG are not looking as sharp as they did a few weeks back.
As noted in some of our previous LoL betting previews, EG can defeat anyone on their day but can also lose to any team in the league. That is largely due to their volatile and aggressive playstyle, which has earned them a few big wins, but we don’t see how that approach will work against more disciplined teams such as TSM.
We have been cautious about TSM’s recent surge in form, but now it is time to accept that this a good team. It will take a lot more than EG to stop them.

?Much like the other teams in the bottom four, Immortals are very inconsistent; however, we could say the same for 100 Thieves, who seem to have lost their mojo of late. Although they boast plenty of talented individuals, 100T’s apparent lack of synergy often leads to iffy plays and unnecessary deaths.
100T need this win, so they will come out with all guns blazing, but we don’t expect Immortals to just roll over and dye. This will be a bloody match with well over 20 kills on the board.

?Dignitas have picked up a few lucky wins this split, but if you are entering the final week with a 10-5 record, you have to be doing something right. While we still believe Dignitas have overachieved a bit and likely won’t make it far in the playoffs, they are still a solid team.
People seem to be putting too much weight on Team Liquid’s 9-6 record. They might have slipped a couple of times, but Liquid are still more than capable of winning the league, which they proved last week with a dominant win against Cloud9.
Liquid have averaged 13.8 kills and 7.20 deaths in their wins, meaning they rarely win with more than six kills to spare – and that includes games against significantly weaker teams than Dignitas. With the kill handicap set at 7.5, the choice is obvious.

?Dignitas have exceeded everyone’s expectations and enter Week 5 of LCS Spring 2021 with a 7-5 record. Despite what those numbers might suggest, the team’s performance ratings are not very exciting.
Not only are Dignitas one of the worst early-game teams in the league, they also have very weak lanes and poor jungle control. However, they have still managed to win 58% of their games. DIG are still arguably stronger than Golden Guardians, but we could debate whether their implied probability to win should sit as high as 77.5%.
Golden Guardians are not very effective in closing down games, but we trust them to secure at least nine kills. That should be easily achievable as long as GG can exploit DIG’s poor early-game.

?100 Thieves’ 8-4 record has them tied in second with TSM. While they can hardly be regarded as serious title contenders, 100T have proven they are good enough to defeat any team in the league. Their biggest assets are strong early game and effective side lanes – namely ADC Ian Victor “FBI” Huang and support Choi “huhi” Jae-hyun, who have a combined GXD10 of +903.
On the flip side, 100T’s biggest weakness in the early game comes from Tanner “Damonte” Damonte (-497 GXD10), who usually struggles against dominant laners. That, however, shouldn’t be a huge problem against Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrag (-375 GXD10), who is the second-worst early-game mid laner in the league.
Even though these two teams match up nicely individually, TSM are significantly better rated as a team. They are the second-most efficient LCS squad when it comes to extending gold leads in the mid-game (+4900), which could prove beneficial if neither side gets too far ahead before the 10-minute mark.
This game should be a close one, but we favour TSM. They have a much better macro play than 100T, who will need to grab a massive gold lead early on to stand a chance. And even if they manage to do so, closing out games has not been their strong suit.

?Team Liquid are one of few teams in the league that can stand up to Cloud9. While they have the tools to win, Liquid don’t match up well with C9 stylistically. Two arguments we could make in favour of TL are their strong early game, which is statistically the best in the league; and their top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris, who should do more than fine against Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami.
By targeting Fudge, TL could potentially get ahead early and translate that advantage into the mid-game. The problem here is that while Liquid have been very effective in gaining early advantages, they haven’t been good enough to snowball their leads. Whereas C9 on average increase their leads between 15-25 minutes by 5543 gold, Liquid’s record in that category in almost 40% worse at +3440.
Liquid’s subpar performance in the mid-late game comes from poor coordination and individual mistakes, which is just another factor that makes us like Cloud9 more here. While a bet on Liquid may seem appealing, they just don’t seem ready to take down Cloud9.

?Since Counter Logic Gaming got their full roster together, they have yet to disappoint with their performances. Last week they put up respectable resistance against 100 Thieves and TSM, and they even took down the high-flying Dignitas.
While CLG seem to be on an upwards trajectory, FlyQuest have made little to no effort to improve upon their early-season showings. FlyQuest tend to fall apart in games where their jungler Brandon Joel “Josedeodo” Villegas doesn’t get things started early on, which he likely won’t be able to achieve when facing the experienced Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen.
We were quite optimistic about FlyQuest leading into the season, but looking at them play, they’re just not very good. We would side with CLG at even money, so we are excited to have them priced at +120.

?Dignitas sit third in the LCS Spring standings with a 4-2 record, whereas FlyQuest sit in seventh place with only two wins from six outings. That said, FlyQuest’s losses have come against Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, 100 Thieves and Cloud9, who are some of the strongest teams in the region.
Taking into consideration FlyQuest’s tough schedule, we should acknowledge that they have performed well even when faced with strong opposition. On the other side, Dignitas’ record is also a bit misleading since their only notable win so far came against Evil Geniuses, and even that was a massive fluke.
Dignitas’ win against EG has inflated the LoL betting odds on FlyQuest, who are individually stronger and also relatively error-free. At these odds, we are taking FlyQuest every day of the week.

?Team Liquid’s passive approach to their games – where they almost completely ignore kills and instead focus on macro play – looks good on paper, but it’s very easy to counter that with early aggression. 100 Thieves proved just how effective that is last week when they bested Liquid with a gold lead of more than 6k and thus drew out a ‘how to defeat Liquid’ blueprint for all other LCS teams to see.
We don’t expect Golden Guardians to exploit that, due to their lack of individual quality, but this game does not scream ‘blowout’ as much as a slow-paced, low-kill, macro-oriented win for Liquid. With that in mind, we have to side with the underdogs to keep it within nine kills.

?Normally, we avoid betting on games that involve volatile teams, but there is no way we are passing on these odds. TSM got off to a disastrous start this season, but it’s impossible to deny that they have looked exponentially better of late.
It’s unclear what changed, but the seven-time LCS champions were very clean in their wins against Golden Guardians, Team Liquid and Immortals last week, which leads us to believe they have finally fixed their issues and are now set to contest the title. Although it’s unwise to overreact to a small sample of games, we have to take into account that TSM will now face Evil Geniuses, whose overly volatile and aggressive gameplay has already seen them punished in losses to Dignitas and Immortals.
It remains to be seen whether TSM will remain stable for long, but we know for sure that EG can lose against any team in the league.

?Immortals’ only two wins of the season have come against Team Liquid and Evil Geniuses, which only goes to show this team is as inconsistent as it gets. That is not to say Immortals lack individual talent, but they shouldn’t be winning games like that just as much as they shouldn’t be losing against Golden Guardians and Dignitas.
After two weeks of play, 100 Thieves remain at the top of the league with a 5-1 record, which is impressive as their only loss so far came against Cloud9. Like Evil Geniuses, 100 Thieves are an aggressive team, but their aggression is calculated and ultimately far more effective.
Rarely do we recommend a bet on teams to cover large kill handicaps, but for this match we have to take 100T to win with at least nine kills up.

]]>The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) is set to return this Friday with an online format, which will be in place for the regular season and into the playoffs. Team Liquid will hope the change will inspire better results as they face off against Evil Geniuses, who caused them headaches in Week 5 of the LCS Spring Split.
Team Liquid enter Week 8 with a 6-8 record next to their name, which ties them with Golden Guardians at seventh place in the league standings. Although a mediocre tally for the four-time back-to-back LCS champions, TL are at least in a position where they can push for playoffs.
Liquid looked very strong in Week 6 when they defeated Team SoloMid and 100 Thieves, but once Week 7 rolled around, everything fell apart. Last week, Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and his crew dropped the ball against Counter Logic Gaming and Immortals, which is worrying as they are not particularly strong teams.
The cause behind Team Liquid’s downfall this season is anyone’s guess, as it’s not like there is one player who is to blame. Having said that, a lot of fingers are pointed at Doublelift, who has left a lot to be desired with his showings so far. He is undoubtedly the most experienced player in his role in North America, yet he consistently fails to impress.
In Doublelift’s defence, the expectations put on him are much greater than those put on most other players, as any game where he does not carry his team is a poor game for his standards. Nonetheless, Liquid need him to step up, otherwise they just might miss out on the playoffs for the first time since 2017.
SEE ALSO: HOW TO BET ON LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
Before the 2020 LCS Spring Split began, Evil Geniuses were one of the teams that no one really knew what to expect from. The signing of 2019 Summer MVP Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen was a big talking point, while the rest of the squad was just one big question mark. Perhaps the biggest enigma was Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro, who gained renown as a very volatile player during his days in Europe.
At the start of the split, Jiizuke had some difficulties with his consistency, but once he built a strong synergy with Svenskeren, Evil Geniuses started to rise. They now hold a respectable 7-7 record, which puts them fourth in the league.
But it’s not only the mid-jungle synergy that has helped Evil Geniuses rise the rankings. A lot of their success is also due to more consistent performances from their top laner, Colin “Kumo” Zhao, and the surge of form from two-time world champion Bae “Bang” Jun-sik in the bottom lane.
All that indicates things are being stabilised in this team and while Evil Geniuses can still look a bit inconsistent at times, they have come a long way since the start of the split.
Despite their iffy performances throughout the season, Team Liquid enter almost every fixture they play as the bookmakers’ favourites. This bout is no exception, although their -172.41 price at BetOnline seems optimistic.
Team Liquid still field some of the best individuals in the scene, but there is clearly something holding them back. Doublelift, who should be the main carry of the team, is going through some difficult times, while Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen has failed to live up to expectations.
Ahead of Week 8, Evil Geniuses have shown much more and look to be in much better form. Bang is finally playing like the star ADC he once was, while Kumo and Jiizuke have both found some much-needed consistency in their respective lanes.
It won’t be an easy match for either side, but we like Evil Geniuses’ chances here and the generous odds make it easy for us to side with Jiizuke and co. to defeat Team Liquid for the second time this split.

]]>FlyQuest and 100 Thieves will meet on the Summoner’s Rift this Monday in a League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) bout featuring two sides that have yet to solidify themselves as serious playoffs contenders.
100 Thieves enter their final fixture of Week 4 on the back of a painful defeat against Dignitas on Saturday, which was their fourth loss of the split. 100T played well but were out-drafted by Henrik “Froggen” Hansen and his squad.
Besides that loss to Dignitas, 100 Thieves defeated Golden Guardians, Counter Logic Gaming and Team Liquid but lost to Evil Geniuses, Cloud9 and Immortals. Based on their results, it would be safe to say 100 Thieves are a solid team that can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the league.
The only issue with 100 Thieves is their inconsistency. Most of their defeats so far have been relatively close, however, so it looks like they could be gatekeepers of the LCS playoffs this season.
FlyQuest still have a lot to prove to the LCS crowd before we can consider them as one of the best North American squads. Jason “WildTurtle” Tran and company had won three out of six games ahead of their clash with Team SoloMid on Sunday, but there is much more to that record than meets the eye.
FlyQuest won their Week 1 clashes with Immortals and Counter Logic Gaming as expected. In Week 2, FlyQuest handed Dignitas their first loss of the season, although that was down to the opposition underperforming more than anything else. In Week 3, FlyQuest were crushed by both Cloud9 and Evil Geniuses and while the first result was expected, we are seriously concerned with their loss to EG.
Those results point to a very unstable team, which leads us to believe FlyQuest are not as strong as their 3-3 record would appear to suggest.
The betting odds at esports bookmakers suggest this will be a close bout, but we are not too keen on FlyQuest’s chances of justifying their slight favouritism.
Both teams can have their moments when they impress and outperform everyone’s expectations, but in terms of raw quality of players and overall approach to the game, we like 100 Thieves more. While Cody “Cody Sun” Sun and his squad are by no means a team we would back to make a deep run in the LCS this season, they have shown enough to make us believe they can stand up to anyone on their day.
William “Meteos” Hartman is still a weak link for 100T due to his questionable decisions and indifferent performances. But if he can hold his own, and if Cody Sun gets a chance to shine, 100 Thieves can be a very scary team to play against.
FlyQuest, meanwhile, seem to be incapable of winning the game by outmuscling their adversaries and instead rely on opponents’ mistakes. That will make for an interesting bout, as 100 Thieves are no stranger to dropping the ball.
This match can easily go either way, but we would not feel comfortable siding with FlyQuest following their poor display against Evil Geniuses in Week 3.
