The post G2 Esports claim 2024 LEC Summer title appeared first on Esport Bet.
]]>Despite a loss to Fnatic on July 22 in the upper bracket final, G2 came into the grand final determined to prove they remain the top team in Europe.
In a series that kept fans on the edge of their seats, G2 emerged victorious, securing the LEC Summer trophy in a win that was more convincing in scoreline than in gameplay.

— LEC (@LEC) July 28, 2024
The stage in Berlin was set for yet another European classic to close out the summer playoffs.
G2 had displayed a shaky performance against Team BDS the day before but managed to secure a win through sheer determination.
In the grand final, G2 faced Fnatic, who had taken a 5k gold and 2 dragon lead in the opening game.
However, G2 capitalised on a pivotal moment, stopping Fnatic from taking Baron and winning a crucial team fight thanks to a double kill by Rasmus “Caps” Winther on Corki.
This led to G2 claiming the Baron and eventually taking Game 1.
Game 2 saw Fnatic once again take an early lead of 5k gold and 2 dragons, but G2 turned the tide with another pivotal team fight around the Baron pit.
Leveraging this momentum, G2 closed out the game.
Facing a 0-2 deficit, Fnatic needed a reverse sweep to claim the trophy.
They dominated the early game in Game 3, securing a 7k gold lead only 13 minutes in.
Yet, G2s individual prowess shone through as they secured consecutive picks on Fnatic, leading to a Baron take and a series of victorious team fights that won them the game, series, and season.
G2’s victory in the summer season means the team closes the year with a perfect record in Europe, having won the winter and spring splits as well.
This triumph also makes G2 the first European team to qualify for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, set to take place in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom later this year.
Caps and his team successfully recovered from an upper bracket setback to maintain their incredible streak in the LEC.
Despite a spirited challenge from Fnatic, who defied expectations by bulldozing their way through the playoffs after a fourth-place finish in the regular season, G2 proved their dominance once again.
G2s Steven “Hans Sama” Liv ended the series with a monstrous 18/3/16 KDA, showcasing his prowess despite Fnatic’s efforts to shut him down.
The LEC Summer split grand final between G2 and Fnatic recorded a peak of 417,113 viewers, according to Esports Charts.
This figure represents an increase from the 2023 Summer peak of 343,576, though it falls short of the Winter (830,816) and Spring (593,554) peaks of this year.
Despite the improvement, viewership has declined split-on-split, a trend attributed to the LEC’s format restructure and the immense popularity of streamer-led teams MAD Lions KOI and Karmine Corp.
G2s victory against Fnatic, marked by thrilling comebacks and dominant performances, solidifies their status as the final boss of European League of Legends.
Fans are eagerly anticipating G2s performance on the international stage at the World Championship, where they will face off against the best teams from around the globe.

]]>Karmne Corp will meet with Team BDS in the third round of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2024 Summer Playoffs on Friday, July 26. The winner will advance to face G2 Esports in the lower-bracket final and have a shot at reaching the LEC 2024 Summer finals.
Both teams won their Round 2 fixtures on map three, with Team BDS edging past GIANTX and Karmine Corp defeating SK Gaming. Neither series was pleasant to watch.
Karmine Corp seem to be peaking at the right time, although this is a generous term. They have not displayed anything promising in their last two wins; rather, they fed on MAD Lions KOIs and SK Gamings mistakes.
Team BDS were not even remotely good against GIANTX, but that is one of the few series in LEC 2024 Summer where they have not performed to expectations. As such, that game seems more like a one-off rather than an indication of Team BDSs downfall.
The last time Team BDS met with Karmine Corp, they closed as -217.39 favourites with top betting sites, and there is no reason to believe that number should be any higher in a best-of-three series. Even though Karmine Corp have won more games than expected lately, theyve shown hardly any improvement.

Fnatic looked unstoppable until the final match of LEC 2024 Summer Week 3 when they lost to G2 Esports. That defeat doesn’t prove anything new, however, nor is it in any way an indication that Fnatic have lost their momentum.
Team Heretics are 2-5, with their wins coming against GIANTX and Karmine Corp. But while losing five games is concerning enough, their performance against Rogue last week might be a good enough reason to see Heretics as one of the worst teams in the league.
Team Heretics are in a very tough spot and theyve not given us many reasons to feel excited about them or their chances to defeat Fnatic. Expect a very one-sided series.

As the offered LoL betting odds suggest, this could be a close series. And since it is a match between two of the weakest LEC squads, thats a fair assessment.
Rogue defeated Team Heretics on Sunday, whereas GIANTX picked up their second consecutive win against the shaky Vitality on Saturday. That success mostly came down to GIANTX drafting much better, but that doesnt discredit their achievements.
Esports bookmakers have the wrong team priced as favourites. Whereas Rogue have shown little this split, GIANTX draft well and have performed to decent level even when faced with more formidable opponents.

G2 Esports have looked a little shaky this split but still managed to take down Fnatic last Sunday, proving again that theyre an elite team. That said, giving them an 84.7% implied probability of beating Vitality in a best-of-one is pushing it a bit.
Its hard to find good arguments to trust Team Vitality outside of the belief that this roster has a very high ceiling. But the quality of the players alone is a good enough reason to question their +354 odds for this game.
Vitality have choked a couple too many times and had questionable drafts last week, which shows in their 2-5 record. But in terms of performance metrics, they are still in a good spot and have not fallen from grace as much as the market might suggest.

SK Gaming enter LEC 2024 Summer Week 4 after beating MAD Lions KOI and Team Heretics in their last two outings. Still, theyre not good enough to be priced as -250 favourites with LoL betting sites — even though theyve beaten Team BDS and G2 Esports, who both made a slew of errors in those matches.
Karmine Corp are 3-4, although theyve only beaten MAD Lions KOI, Rogue, and Vitality, who helped KC with a massive throw. This is far below the expectations for a roster of this quality.
Even though it feels wrong to trust Karmine Corp to do what theyre supposed to, SK Gaming are overrated at this price. The value is with the underdogs.

After three weeks of play in LEC 2024 Summer, a clear divide has become evident with Fnatic (6-1), SK Gaming (6-1), Team BDS (6-1) and G2 Esports (5-2) filling the top-four places on the table.
This week’s games will feature a massive clash between Fnatic and SK Gaming, which could result in the winner taking top spot before the break.

Team BDS started the LoL EMEA Championship 2024 Summer campaign with a perfect record. They beat Team Vitality and Team Heretics and closed out the first week of the summer split with a massive victory against G2 Esports.
Team BDS victory against G2 looks excellent on paper, but they had some very questionable moments in that game. So, while they deserve some praise, the final result was primarily thanks to G2 not playing as well as expected.
SK Gaming also had a solid start to the summer season, beating Rogue, G2 Esports, and GIANTX. But while their results look similar to Team BDS, SK Gaming showed better coordination and far more stability.
This is a clash between two European LoL teams that are serious candidates to finish the season in third place. But in the first week of play, SK Gaming showed more overall, making them an obvious pick at outsider odds.

Fnatic did what was expected of them in the first week of LEC 2024 Summer, with comfortable wins against Karmine Corp, GIANTX, and Team Vitality. In some of the fixtures, Fnatic looked a bit rough early but blew things wide open in the mid-late game.
Rogue didnt look great last week, but they still managed to pick up one win against the unconvincing Team Vitality. Yet they dont deserve much praise for that, as Rogue wouldve lost had Vitality not thrown away multiple winning positions.
Rogue are the same team we saw in the LEC 2024 Spring; theyve shown no notable improvement so far. Now theyre set to face a team that is more than capable of punishing mistakes, which should lead to a very one-sided game.
MAD LIONS KOI vs TEAM VITALITY LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | KOI -125 at BetOnline | Vitality -111.11 at BetOnline |
When: | June 15, 2024 | 18:30 CEST |

MAD Lions KOI had an atrocious showing in the first week of the split. They lost to G2 Esports, which isnt too worrying, but its hard to ignore their loss to Karmine Corp.
MAD were over 3k gold up at 20 minutes and extended that lead to over 10k gold at 30 minutes, yet they threw it away by forcing unnecessary fights. The main theme of the week was poor macro and questionable team compositions.
Team Vitality dont deserve much praise for their LEC 2024 Summer Week 1 displays either. After showing a high degree of consistency last split, Vitality seemingly returned to their old ways, doing random things on the Summoners Rift without any plans.
Both Vitality and MAD Lions KOI have a lot to prove this week, and as the offered betting odd suggest, theres no telling which side is worse. But both teams like to fight and make errors, which should result in a scrappy and bloody affair.

When: | June 15, 2024 | 19:15 CEST |

Despite picking up just one win last week, Team Heretics are priced as favourites to defeat Karmine Corp with the best LoL betting sites. This doesnt have as much to do with Heretics quality as it has with Karmine Corps lacklustre showings.
Karmine Corp entered LEC 2024 Summer with much to prove after their abysmal run through LEC 2024 Spring, yet theyve proved just one thing: their macro understanding is one of the worst in the league. At least Karmine Corp have capable players, which helped them overcome Rogue and MAD Lions KOI — but even in those games, KCs success was largely due to their opponents playing worse.
Team Heretics are not as good as Fnatic, G2 Esports, or even Team BDS and SK Gaming. But theyre much stabler than Karmine Corp, who are incredibly sloppy and not a team wed trust our money with.

?Team Vitality need a near-perfect week to finish the regular season inside the top eight, so anything less than a win on Saturday will not be acceptable. In a last-ditch attempt to find some traction, Vitality promoted academy jungler Kacper “Daglas” Dagiel as a replacement for Zhou “Bo” Yang-Bo, which looks like an upgrade, but Daglas’ lack of experience is concerning.
KOI are not that much better than Vitality, and they’re not a team to be trusted as heavy favourites. This isn’t the old Rogue team, and while KOI have looked like they’ve figured things out at times, they’ve also failed to find any consistency.
Knowing that KOI are every chance to make a fatal mistake, taking the favourites isn’t a terrible choice. There are some question marks above Vitality and how the team will do with a new jungler, but Daglas can’t be worse than Bo, who was the league’s worst-performing player.

G2 Esports are 5-1, which guarantees them a spot in the LEC 2023 Summer Groups. Stat-wise, G2 Esports are the best squad in the LEC; however, they’re also a team that shouldn’t be trusted when they have nothing to fight for, as they’re known to screw around and play with their food.
Excel Esports had a huge bounce-back last week when they won against Team Heretics, Team BDS, and MAD Lions and looked good doing it. They’ve finally figured out the meta, and if they keep at it, Excel will be a serious candidate to reach the playoffs.
While G2 Esports are the stronger team, they’re not a good bet at the offered price. Excel can win if given enough space, but we don’t have to risk money on whether G2 will feel like playing well. Excel at the kill line is the way to go.
MAD LIONS vs TEAM HERETICS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

---|---|
Best Odds: | MAD -250 at BetOnline | Heretics +175 at BetOnline |
When: | July 1, 2023 | 22:00 CEST |

MAD Lions are still held in high regard, but they’re not as good as their record or past achievements would suggest. They’re too reliant on getting kills, which is not a strategy that’ll bring long-term success.
Team Heretics have looked much better than expected this split; however, they managed just one win last week against Team BDS, with defeats against Excel and KOI. This team is still decent, but the form is questionable.
Talent-wise, MAD Lions are stronger than Heretics, but there’s a better way to approach betting on this game. Both teams like to stretch out their matches, and they both like to fight – so, barring any major early-game mistakes from either side, this should be a drawn-out game with plenty of kills.

?Excel Esports haven’t looked good so far, and they didn’t accomplish much last split either, but they shouldn’t be priced as +225 underdogs against Team Heretics or any other team in the league. Heretics are the most likely victors for a couple of key reasons – namely jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski and ADC Victor “Flakked” Lirola Tortosa – but -303.03 is far too short.
Team Heretics won all three of their LEC 2023 Summer Week 1 matches, but they also showed a high degree of inconsistency, so it’s tough to say how good they are. While they’ve looked better than Excel, there were also moments in those matches where Heretics showed they are vulnerable.
It’s tough to justify backing a team that has been struggling this entire season, but the top LoL betting sites have this one wrong. Take Excel Esports to keep it close.
KOI vs FNATIC LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Fnatic had an explosive start to the split with a new bottom lane and outperformed everyone’s expectations. But things came crashing down in the final match of the opening week when Fnatic were outclassed by G2 Esports.
KOI won their first match of the summer split against Excel Esports but were far less successful against Team BDS and MAD Lions. However, KOI could’ve won those games had they not choked when leading (against BDS) or flipped a dragon fight at 24 minutes (against MAD).
Regardless of their record, KOI looked very good in the opening week and arguably shouldn’t be priced at +150 against Fnatic. Considering KOI’s efficiency in gaining early leads through kills, we prefer over 28.5 kills.
TEAM VITALITY vs G2 ESPORTS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | Vitality +150 at BetOnline | G2 -200 at BetOnline |
When: | June 24, 2023 | 20:00 CEST |

G2 Esports finished the first week of LEC 2023 Summer with wins against Team BDS and Fnatic and a loss against MAD Lions. Their defeat against the defending champions was interesting because G2 had that game in the bag but decided to screw around. Even last split they look bored in their games, suggesting a lack of focus.
Team Vitality are probably the second-best team in the league, but their record from Week 1 of LEC 2023 Summer doesn’t make it seem like that. The Bees first lost against MAD Lions, then bounced back against SK Gaming, and on the final day they got blasted by Team Heretics.
Week 1 results don’t mean much, but it’s clear that Vitality are still not playing at their full potential. So on one side, we have a team that will shoot themselves in the foot more times than they’ll be outclassed, and on the other, an extremely talented roster struggling to find traction.
As much as it’s scary betting against G2 Esports, the offered League of Legends betting odds make it the right play. Team Vitality are good enough to defeat G2 Esports C we just haven’t seen that side of Vitality yet.

The reigning LEC 2023 Spring champions, MAD Lions, will clash with Europe’s juggernauts, Team Vitality, in the opening match of LEC 2023 Summer, which should be a close match. Vitality and MAD met three times last split, with Vitality winning the first two games (1-0, 2-0), but couldn’t do the same in the LEC 2023 Spring semifinal, when MAD Lions won 3-1.
Based on past results, MAD Lions and Team Vitality look evenly matched, and with neither team making any roster changes for the summer split, the balance of power should remain the same. However, if we had to pick a side, Team Vitality are a clear choice.
Even though Vitality were a massive disappointment last split, this is still a very stacked roster, which now had more than enough time to form the needed synergy. On the other hand, MAD Lions are the reigning champions, but they severely overperformed in spring and are overrated.
Early-season games can be volatile, but Team Vitality are qualitatively much better than MAD Lions.

Excel Esports finished the first two splits of the season in 10th place and have combined just three wins (3-15). The lack of success led to a couple of roster changes, in the signing of a new jungler Lee “Peach” Min-gyu and the departure of mid laner Vincent “Vetheo” Berri, who got replaced by Felix “Abbedagge” Braun.
These changes won’t strengthen Excel, but this team doesn’t need to sign star players to be competitive. Rather they need to work on synergy and macro play C which was the main reason for poor showings last split.
KOI also made some roster changes ahead of LEC 2023 Summer, but not good ones. Even though it’s understandable for a team to change up its roster following a seventh-place finish in spring, replacing support Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus with Henk “Advienne” Reijenga can’t work in their favour.
KOI look like a better team on paper, but they’re not good enough to be priced as -250 favourites with the top LoL betting sites. Excel Esports have yet to impress this season, but they have the talent and coaching staff to be competitive. This is a winnable match for the underdogs.
G2 ESPORTS vs TEAM BDS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

Best Odds: | G2 -250 at BetOnline | BDS +175 at BetOnline |

G2 Esports had an abysmal ending to the LEC 2023 Spring when they crashed out of the playoffs with a (2-3) defeat against MAD Lions. But that loss doesn’t change the fact that G2 Esports were by far the best-performing team in the league, and they should be just as good in LEC 2023 Summer.
We could also give Team BDS the tag of one of the best teams in the LEC, considering they made the LEC 2023 Spring finals and lost by a single map (2-3). However, there’s no denying that Team BDS severely overperformed and took advantage of other teams’ struggles which made them look much better than they really are.
Team BDS still deserve all the praise for what they produced last split, but it is unlikely they’ll be even remotely as good in summer. Take G2 Esports to win with plenty to spare.
FNATIC vs ASTRALIS LoL BETTING & MATCH DETAILS |

When: | June 17, 2023 | 22:00 CEST |

Fnatic couldn’t find any traction in the first two splits of the season, and despite all the roster changes, success was hard to come by. But with Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus as new support and ADC Oh “Noah” Hyeon-taek, this could be the split where Fnatic wake up.
We don’t have much information on Noah, but he has been praised as the future European ADC star, and he’s unquestionably an upgrade from Carl Martin Erik “Rekkles” Larsson. So at least on paper, Fnatic look much better ahead of LEC 2023 Summer.
Astralis finished LEC 2023 Spring regular season in second place. However, like Team BDS, Astralis overperformed but fell off much quicker and crashed out of LEC 2023 Spring Groups.
Based on the teams’ results from last split, Astralis should be the favourites, but talent-wise, Fnatic are far superior. There’s still a question of whether Fnatic will manage to hit the ground running early, but more times than not, they should defeat Astralis with relative ease.

]]>?Fnatic and Rogue will lock horns on Saturday, September 10, in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) 2022 Summer semi-finals at Malm? Arena in Sweden.
Before the LEC 2022 Summer Playoffs began, Fnatic were not expected to achieve much, mainly due to their shaky showing in the latter part of the regular season. But as soon as Fnatic entered the knockout stage, they started performing like an entirely different team.
Mid laner Marek “Humanoid” Brzda, who was consistently dying to ganks, now closely resembles Emil “Larssen” Larsson and his ability to stand his ground in the lane. But besides Fnatic now playing with a much more stable mid lane, the Black & Orange can also count on jungler Ivn “Razork” Martn Daz, who always seems to be in the right place at the right time, boasting a 71.8% kill participation across the playoffs.
The bot lane duo lane hasn’t improved as much as Humanoid and Razork. However, we have seen a handful of heroic plays from Elias “Upset” Lipp, who has singlehandedly won a couple of games for his team.
It seems like everything fell into place for Fnatic just at the right time, and not only have players stepped up their game, but we mustn’t ignore the team’s momentum ahead of this bout.
Talent-wise, Rogue look more than capable of beating Fnatic, especially if jungler Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong can step up and deliver. But that’s a big IF, especially knowing that he’ll have to match Razork, who is extremely proactive on the map and arguably the most impactful jungler in the league.
Rogue can win, but it will require a huge blunder from Fnatic, which isn’t something you would expect from a team that has recently crushed MAD Lions and leads Rogue in all metrics except for the first turret rate (58.3% – 62.5%). Moreover, as a team that likes to take things slow, Rogue are bound to struggle against Fnatic’s explosive early game.
Fnatic to win with at least two maps to spare at evens is a decent pick, but the Black & Orange can sweep this game, and the offered LoL odds on this market are good enough for us to take the bet.
