Talon Esports are 2-6 ahead of the season’s final match, which guarantees they’ll end the year outside the top six. They looked good in Week 7 when Talon upset Gen.G (2-0) but were no match for Rex Regum Qeon (1-2) on Sunday.
Their next opponents, DetonatioN FocusMe, have yet to win a game this season, and based on their recent showings against Global Esports (7-13, 6-13) and DRX (8-13, 4-13), that won’t change on Tuesday.
Talon and DetonatioN FocusMe are two of the weakest team in the VCT 2023 Pacific League, and since they don’t have anything left to fight for, it’s tough to justify betting on Talon at -357.14 with BetOnline. They have looked better than DetonatioN FocusMe, but DFM have had their moments and did well against teams of similar quality to Talon.
Talon Esports should win, but we don’t expect them to sweep. Take over 2.5 maps.

Paper Rex entered VCT 2023 Pacific League as a team to watch, and even though they didn’t live up to the expectations early on, Paper Rex found momentum just in time to claw their way to the upper part of the standings.
After a 2-2 start to the season, Paper Rex turned on their jets and secured four straight games ahead of Tuesday’s clash. They have won against Global Esports (2-1), Talon Esports (2-1), ZETA DIVISION (2-0), and Gen.G (2-0), which is impressive.
Paper Rex’s final opponents of the season Rex Regum Qeon are 4-4, meaning they must win to secure a spot in the playoffs. Unfortunately, this won’t come easy, and their past showings don’t inspire much confidence.
On Sunday, RRQ barely made it past Talon Esports (2-1), and while they looked good against DRX (1-2) at the end of April, Rex Regum Qeon also lost against T1 (0-2) a week before that. So even though RRQ can be good, they’re not the most consistent team.
Had this game been played three weeks ago, when Paper Rex were a bit inconsistent, siding with Rex Regum Qeon with a map handicap would make sense. But Paper Rex are now an entirely different beast and should get it done in two maps.
