Fnatic Rising will kick off the third season of WePlay Academy League with a clash against Young Ninjas. It will mark their fifth head-to-head meeting and the first since late November, when Fnatic won 2-0, with 16-11 on Vertigo and 19-16 on Inferno.
Fnatic Rising have since not made any roster changes, which isn’t too inspiring knowing they ended last season in fifth place and missed out on the playoffs. Meanwhile, Young Ninjas topped their group with a perfect 3-0 record and finished third.
Despite that, Fnatic Rising are priced as the favourites with the online bookmakers for this bout, which sounds fair since they have a much higher ceiling. But while Fnatic have a solid upside, that hardly warrants a bet on them at the offered CS:GO betting odds.
Since this is both teams’ first official match in over a month, we expect some ring rust and a more open affair. As the previous seasons have taught us, there is no clear winner in these bouts, which is why we’re betting on over 26.5 rounds.

Natus Vincere Junior parted ways with Evgeniy “Aunkere” Karyat and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov at the start of December, which will severely harm their chances to make a splash this season. Although it’s not wise to underestimate an organisation known for developing incredible young talent, it’s doubtful the new additions will be as impactful as Aunkere and m0NESY.
Even though we don’t have high expectations for NaVi Jr., it’s also difficult to be bullish on Astralis Talent. The Danes achieved noting in October, and while the addition of Martin “trace” Bang Heldt as a new coach could help with the team development, it will be a long-term process.
This is a clash between two of the weakest teams at the tournament, and we expect it to play out as such. The esports betting sites have set the total round line at 26.5, which is way too low in our book, since it’s unlikely for one team to keep the other at under 11 rounds.
