Another huge week of esports kicks off on October 16, 2023, with Counter-Strike taking centre stage.
The first Counter-Strike 2 LAN event will take place in Sydney, Australia, with IEM Fall (also known as IEM Sydney) kicking off on October 16 and concluding on Sunday, October 22.
16 of the world’s best teams will make their way down under to Sydney to compete in the US$250,000 event, with the winner claiming the US$100,000 prize cheque and a spot at IEM Katowice 2024.
Meanwhile, the season ending tournaments for both League of Legends and Dota 2 will continue, with the World Championship and The International entering the main event stage of the each tournament.

IEM Fall (IEM Sydney)
The event that is being dubbed “The Reunion” will begin on Monday, October 16, with the very first Counter-Strike 2 LAN tournament running all week.
Of the 16 teams taking their place at IEM Fall, eight of them are ranked inside the top 10 in the ESL world ranking, with the likes of Team Vitality, ENCE, FaZe Clan and G2 Esports expected to play prominent roles in the event.
Most esports betting sites have Team Vitality marked as the favourites at +275, closely followed by ENCE and G2 Esports who are both marked at +300 to take out IEM Sydney.

League of Legends World Championship
The main event of LoL Worlds will officially kick off on October 19.
The Group Stage will feature the new Swiss System which will be played from October 19-23 and October 26-29.
Esports betting sites have Mid-Season Invitational and LPL champion JD Gaming marked as the +125 favourite, followed by Gen.G (+500) and LNG Esports (+600).

Dota 2 The International
The 2023 Dota Pro Circuit will conclude with the 12th edition of The International, where 20 of the world’s best Dota 2 teams will compete for the coveted title.
With the Group Stage behind us, the playoffs (main event) will begin on October 20, running all weekend until October 22, before the Finals Weekend takes place from October 26-29.
