{"id":8179,"date":"2019-09-19T01:10:21","date_gmt":"2019-09-19T01:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/?p=8179"},"modified":"2020-10-05T22:04:09","modified_gmt":"2020-10-06T02:04:09","slug":"team-envy-qualify-for-dreamhack-masters-malmo-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esportbet.com\/team-envy-qualify-for-dreamhack-masters-malmo-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Team Envy qualify for DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Team Envy secured the final spot at <a href=\"\/dreamhack-announces-return-to-malmo-with-250000-prize-pool\/\" title=\"More DreamHack Masters Malmo news\">DreamHack Masters Malmo<\/a> on Tuesday, September 17, when they won the North American qualifiers by defeating eUnited 3-1 in the grand finals.<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming <a href=\"\/counter-strike\/\" title=\"Counter-Strike esports betting\">CS:GO esports tournament<\/a> is set to kick off on October 1 at the MalmoMassan Arena and conclude on Sunday, October 6 with the grand finals at Malmo Arena.<\/p>\n<p>It will serve as the third Intel Grand Slam event of the season, following IEM Chicago, which concluded on July 21, 2019, and ESL One: New York, which will kick off next week on Thursday, September 26.<\/p>\n<p>While there are still almost two weeks that separate us from the opening fixtures of the tournament, DreamHack revealed the finalized team list on their official website this week after Team Envy emerged as the champions of NA qualifiers.<\/p>\n<div class=\" embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Here&#39;s our full team list for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CORSAIR?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@CORSAIR<\/a> DreamHack Masters Malm\u00f6! ?<\/p>\n<p>Who is your favourite for the win? ?? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/psuitH7FpG\">pic.twitter.com\/psuitH7FpG<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; DreamHack Counter-Strike (@DreamHackCSGO) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DreamHackCSGO\/status\/1174274903383715844?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 18, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>The 16 teams heading to Sweden next month are Astralis, ENCE, Team Envy, Fnatic, FURIA, G2 Esports, Grayhound Gaming, Team Liquid, mousesports, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, North, NRG Esports, OpTic Gaming, TYLOO and Team Vitality.<\/p>\n<p>Envy&#8217;s road to Malmo started in the North American closed qualifiers, where they were one of the two teams (alongside eUnited) that received direct invites.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining six teams had to earn their spot via open qualifiers that featured 66 teams from all over North America competing for one of the four available tickets.<\/p>\n<p>Closed qualifiers took off on Wednesday, September 11, featuring eight sides: Team Envy, eUnited, Stay Frosty, ATK, Shark Esports, Swole Patrol, Monstars and Team Divine.<\/p>\n<p>The format of the closed qualifiers featured double-elimination bracket playoffs with all matches played in best-of-three (Bo3) series.<\/p>\n<p>The grand finals, however, used a best-of-five (Bo5) format, with an additional rule that gave a one-map advantage to the team that earned their spot in the finals via the upper bracket.<\/p>\n<p>Team Envy started their NA qualifiers campaign with a fixture against Team Divine, who were no match for 2015 Major champions.
